The nitrogen generator is based on the principle of pressure swing adsorption,using high-quality carbon molecular sieves as adsorbents to produce nitrogen from the air under a certain pressure.Purified and dried compressed air is subjected to pressurized adsorption and depressurization desorption in an adsorber.Due to aerodynamic effects,the diffusion rate of oxygen in the micropores of carbon molecular sieves is much higher than that of nitrogen.Oxygen is preferentially adsorbed by carbon molecular sieves,and nitrogen is enriched in the gas phase to form finished nitrogen gas.Then,after being depressurized to atmospheric pressure,the adsorbent desorbs impurities such as oxygen,achieving regeneration.
There are two major issues with the purity of the nitrogen generator
1、Online detection of nitrogen analyzer oxygen probe aging,incorrect detection data

The main problem with insufficient purity of the nitrogen generator,apart from inaccurate measurement data from the P860 nitrogen analyzer,is due to the nitrogen generator itself.Our company has been specializing in the maintenance and upkeep of nitrogen generators for many years.We have summarized the following points and made corresponding countermeasures as follows
3、The nitrogen flow rate exceeds the design capacity of the nitrogen generator.Some customers have adopted a just right nitrogen generator capacity matching concept in order to save equipment procurement investment.As a result,the demand for the production line has increased while the nitrogen flow rate cannot increase.At this moment,the cost of adding equipment is high.
4、Due to poisoning of the carbon molecular sieve in the nitrogen generator,the adsorption capacity of the carbon molecular sieve decreases.The so-called poisoning of carbon molecular sieves in nitrogen generators refers to the failure of the manufacturer to timely maintain the air oil and water removal system,resulting in oil pollution entering the adsorption tower of the nitrogen generator.The oil pollution will block the adsorption chamber of the carbon molecular sieve and cannot adsorb oxygen molecules,so there will be a high oxygen content in the nitrogen gas coming out of the flow meter.At this moment,users should replace the air filter element,automatic drain valve,and oil removal activated carbon in a timely manner according to production needs,mainly by replacing the adsorbent of the nitrogen generator,so as to restore normal nitrogen production capacity.
5、Adsorption pressure issue.The optimal adsorption pressure for carbon molecular sieve is between 0.65mpa and 0.85mpa.If it is lower than the normal adsorption pressure of carbon molecular sieve in a nitrogen making machine,it is impossible to produce nitrogen normally.So,what is the reason for the low adsorption pressure in a nitrogen making machine?Some customers may think it is due to insufficient air supply from the air compressor,but in fact,this is just one of the important reasons.Another important hidden reason is the gas leakage in the pneumatic valve of the nitrogen generator.The so-called gas leakage refers to the inability of the pneumatic valve to close tightly due to wear and tear of the sealing material due to certain reasons,resulting in a large amount of air being discharged and unable to increase the adsorption pressure.
Solution to the decrease in purity of nitrogen generator and failure to meet standards
1、Excessive traffic
The originally customized purity and flow rate of the nitrogen generator will decrease if the flow rate is increased,and the purity will also increase if the flow rate is decreased.It is recommended not to adjust the flow rate yourself and to have professional advice.
2、Carbon molecular sieve expired
If the nitrogen generator is used for too long,the quality of the carbon molecular sieve will deteriorate,and the purity of the produced nitrogen will be low.It is necessary to replace the carbon molecular sieve,and the purity can be restored.Precautions for maintenance and upkeep of nitrogen generators after a certain period of use.Many customers have reported that nitrogen generators may experience insufficient gas production,decreased purity,and powder spraying after a certain period of use
